“TWO MONTHS CONVICTION FOR OUTRAGING THE MODESTY OF A MINOR GIRL AGED 15 YRS”
Darjeeling, October 212, 2014: In an incident held in Mirik, on March 8, 2014, the minor girl (name anonymous) was returning home from her grandfather’s house and on the way, the accused Dipesh Subba, who was following her, caught her from behind and as a consequence she fell on the ground.
The case was filed against Dipesh Subba under – In Spl (C) 13/2014 vide S. Trial No.44/2014. Total seven witnesses were examined.
The accused Dipesh Subba was found guilty for the offences punishable u/s 354 of the I.P.C. read with Section 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act,2012.
The Judgement was pronounced by Mr Santanu Mishra, Special & Additional Sessions Judge, IInd Court.
Mr Pranay Rai, Chief Public Prosecutor stood for the Prosecution.
When our DT correspondent contacted the victim’s grandfather he said “Everyday our society is getting bigger and unlawful. During my days everyone was law abiding and had respect for females. Children were looked upon as Gods child. I never believed and expected such judgement. I am happy justice has been delivered. Let every girl child live in an air of safety and security.”
