DARJEELING/DELHI, 2 Mar 2014: The five member Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) delegation, presently camped in Delhi met President Pranab Mukherjee late last night to seek his intervention for creation of a Gorkha state, following the Telengana bill passed by the Lok Sabha recently.
The delegation led by party general secretary Roshan Giri requested the President to form a committee to look into the statehood demand. “We met the President yesterday late in the evening and apprised him about our rightful demand. President Mukherjee heard us patiently and told us that he would speak to the Prime Minister and the union home minister in this regard,” said a delegation member not wishing to be named. (EOIC)
