FOUR YEARS OF DARJEELINTIMES.COM

DarjeelingTimes.com is a news portal based in Darjeeling, disseminating news from Darjeeling Hills to the people of Darjeeling Hills living around the world. We always remain thankful to all our viewers and visitors.

We have worked hard to provide news 'as and when it happens' in Darjeeling despite of the limited resources and funds (and slow net connections and irregular electricity).  We are, in fact, keeping DarjeelingTimes.com alive by investing from our pockets personally, be it collecting & updating news, renewal of domains, web hosting cost or day to day operations. We are grateful to a lot of people including the members in our team who have worked hard  and most of them have volunteered without any hesitation. We would also like to thank our article contributors who have made DarjeelingTimes.com possible.

Since the establishment of DarjeelingTimes.com in 2006 by two friends (Udhyan Rai and Karun Thapa), who conceived the news portal for Darjeeling, we have received lot of love and encouragement from Darjeeling diaspora. We have faced a lot of challenges during our 5 years of operation, but we have always tried our best to keep you informed in difficult situations, too. We have always tried to be neutral and unbiased, though we have been alleged of being biased sometimes. We would  like to assure you that we will continue to be unbiased and give you balance news. We have been very democratic in posting news, comments or views from our side and we will always remain so. Your participation, suggestions, encouragement, complaints, help, comments have inspired us to give you more. Your love and our satisfaction is what has inspired us to complete our 5 years.

We have already stated above that we are running under a limited resources and funds, we are still trying to maintain this portal and meet your expectations. This was the reason we had to stick to the old design for 4 years. Lately, we have changed our hosting to a faster server and redesigned our website. We are open to suggestions and comments. Please provide your suggestions regarding the new design, content and content management.
