Darjeeling, August 15: The 66th Independence Day celebrated at North Point Ground with thousands of students and people of Darjeeling. During the occasion, newly elected GTA Chief, Bimal Gurung was the chief guest, unfurled the tri-colour and addressed the public of Darjeeling.

School children, who were present in large numbers, demonstrated best of their show by displaying drills and patriotic fervor.  About 40 schools and 8 different organizations were participated in the event. The GTA Chief gave away Cheque of Rs. 50,000/- to various participating schools for the purchase of drumming equipments.
