Another moment of delight added to my list of new year jollity bonanza! Yesterday I got a call from one of my friend Rinchen seeking help to rescue this helpless innocent monkey who has become a pathetic victim of an electrocution in the Electric Powerhouse somewhere near Ging Tea garden. (Rinchen was informed by her friend Peden, Assistant Engineer of the powerhouse) The sad news rendered melancholy within me. Being away from my town, it was not possible for me to make a physical participation to extricate the animal from such an unfortunate situation.
I called up few contacts within my reach and finally got the suitable authority for the rescue operation. Forest officials from Jorbunglow turned up at the drop of the hat to rescue the animal.
Today when I phoned them, I was amazed to hear the recuperation of the monkey once swinging in between the pillars of life and death. The animal was released to the sevoke forest today afternoon, happy healthy and full of life.
I couldn’t resist myself from sharing this on fb to value the endorsement of kind and compassion. A big THANK YOU to the FOREST OFFICIALS from JOREBUNGLOW and to my friend who informed me about the incident.
A bouquet of THANK YOU goes to PEDEN and the GING POWERHOUSE authority who left no stone unturned to rescue the ape under shock. Also thanks to DARJEELING ANIMAL SHELTER for taking an initiative to help the animal under insurmountable pain and sufferings.
I can’t stand without thanking the vet from Darjeeling zoo Uttam Mani Pradhan da for contacting the lifesaver (forest officials). And lastly I feel immensely gratified to the technology and electronics that has evolved with time surpassing remotely obsolete means of communication. Once again I would say love and compassion is the only panacea for all animal woes (and also the only solution to human illogical feud!)
Let us be kind to animals and help them in every possible way, no matter how small our role may be. Let’s make SERVING THE VOICELESS as our new year resolution and make this world a better place for animals. Stay blessed stay happy and please help injured or sick animals on the streets.
