Hill TMC meets on Binny Sharma issue
KURSEONG, 28 Sep 2014: Talking to the reporters, the Hill TMC Kurseong sub divisional convenor, Kundan Mangrati said that today they had held a meeting at their party office in Kurseong where they discussed the matter of one of their senior Hill TMC leader Mr. Binny Sharma who has allegedly been reported to have seduced a minor.
He said that after a prolonged discussion they have condemned the incident and also passed a resolution that if Binny Sharma is found guilty then accordingly through the law of the land he must be punished. The Hill TMC will never interfere in such kinds of incidents to save anti social elements and not only Binny Sharma but any leaders of the TMC if proven guilty must be suspended from the party. We demand that the investigation on the matter is free and fair.
Rape slur on Darj TMC leader: Girl untraceable
Siliguri/Kurseong: Police today said they have so far failed to trace the 16-year-old girl who filed a rape complaint against Binny Sharma, the Darjeeling Hill Trinamul Congress general secretary and spokesperson.
“Police have not been able to trace the girl so far, but investigations into the matter are still on,” said Darjeeling superintendent of police Akhilesh
Chaturvedi.
The girl hailing from Naxalbari in Darjeeling district had lodged the complaint at the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court in Darjeeling, while the court has forwarded the complaint to the Naxalbari Police station. Meanwhile in Kurseong, the Hill TMC Kurseong sub-divisional convenor, Kundan Mangrati, said they held a meeting at their party office in Kurseong and discussed the matter at length.
According to him, they condemned the incident and also passed a resolution that Mr Sharma must be punished as per the laws of the land if he is found guilty. “The Hill TMC will never interfere in such incidents and protect anti-social elements, and not only Binny Sharma, but any leader of the party, if proven guilty, must be suspended from the party. We demand free and fair investigations into the matter,” Mr Mangrati said. SNS
