I wanted to bring one least noticed issue into exposure. I don’t whether you have noticed or not the way (SMS) Singamari drivers react when there’s less vehicle around. I don’t know the actual reason behind a refusal to drive where there’s less vehicle in the stand. You wait for the vehicle tussling around, and when one arrives the driver straight forward refuses to head back. They say – aile jadina!
Is it because of a greed they have or the genuine reason. I’m not sure, but I’m sure of one thing because of this attitude from the drivers lots of people every day have to face the unwanted trouble. Especially students and senior citizens, they have to wrestle heavy to get into the vehicle.
The same incident occurred today, I had to go Singamari, when I reached the stand I could see so many passengers standing. At first I thought there might not be the vehicles, but when I looked around I could see more then six vehicles. None of them were ready to go. The passengers had to wait for other vehicles to come. Soon one did, everyone rushed towards it, I stood and witnessed the incident. I knew I won’t be able to get in the vehicle.
After all there were more than 15 passengers and only one vehicle. I really don’t understand who is responsible behind this sort of futile reason of havoc.
Whom to blame? The passengers, SMS or the administration!
We Darjeeling people are used to with this is sort of situation. We know how to tackle the situation but I’m afraid others don’t.
