As we all are living in a world where technology have made rapid advances with the emergence of internet, search engine like google and online social media like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp. But is it a real world that we are living in? Obviously no because all these online social media are virtual world where people have not seen each other and they just become friends online and they start talking, but a very few people realize the increasing disadvantage of the online platform and be conscious.
However I just read one recent case of a girl who was sexually harrassed online by a guy was highlighted by the DC.
Such a shame to that kind of person having sick mentality. Although necessary steps have been taken we have to wait until justice is delivered.
In our country we have been hearing about terrorist attacks, smuggling, human trafficking and other concerned issues which govt is trying to tackle but among such issues cyber crime has also been a very burning issue. Is it just by guarding the external boundaries of a countries means safe ? I guess its no because internal threats like online cyber crime are on increase and the govt instead of demonetizing the 1000 and 500 Rs notes the govt should have focused on internal security issues which have been degrading the status of our country.
Its not only in Darjeeling that this has happened, but it may happen with any one of us in any part of the country.
Even though India is the fastest growing economy still it faces stiff challenges from within. People are still malnourished, illiterate and its doesn’t mean that just criticising our country’s policies makes me anti-national.
A coin also has two sides, likewise social media has both advantage and disadvantage and it depends upon each of us, how we use it.
