At just 23, Darjeeling lad Tashi Namja is flying thousands of passengers across India and the world. He is perhaps the 1st commercial pilot from Darjeeling.
Tashi Namja, son of Yeshi Chonzom and Tashi Pencho did his schooling from St. Joseph’s, NP, Darjeeling and completed his Flight training from California Airways. At just 8 years of age, tashi found his true calling and with the support of his parents, he has been able to convert his dreams into reality.
Throwong light on his educational background, Tashidid his schooling from St Josephs School, North Point and on completing his board exams he left for the US where he did his training in a flight school called California Airways. He got his Commercial Pilots licence there and returned, as he wanted to fly close to home. He made the Indigo selection process on June 21,2015, and started flying for indigo on August 28, 2016. His current designation is First Officer (copilot) and he is currently based in Kolkata.
Moving forward with the motto that dreams can be met with discipline and determination, at just 23, Tashi has now made the sky his second home.
